{"id":696,"date":"2011-01-31T16:09:53","date_gmt":"2011-01-31T16:09:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oerblog.conted.ox.ac.uk\/?p=49"},"modified":"2011-01-31T16:09:53","modified_gmt":"2011-01-31T16:09:53","slug":"oer-and-the-curriculum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tallblog.conted.ox.ac.uk\/index.php\/2011\/01\/31\/oer-and-the-curriculum\/","title":{"rendered":"OER and the curriculum"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_54\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 310px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/oerblog.conted.ox.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/reuse1.jpg\"><img class=\"size-medium wp-image-54 \" title=\"reuse\" src=\"http:\/\/oerblog.conted.ox.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/reuse1-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Flower made from 5 spoons and a marble\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">AttributionNoncommercialShare Alike Some rights reserved by kcolwell<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Last Wednesday I attended the latest in the very useful series of Elluminate sessions organised by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/\">JISC<\/a> Curriculum <a href=\"https:\/\/tallblog.conted.ox.ac.uk\/wp-admin\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/curriculumdesign\">Design<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tallblog.conted.ox.ac.uk\/wp-admin\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/curriculumdelivery\">Delivery<\/a> programme.\u00a0 Entitled &#8220;Academy\/JISC OER Programme: implications for  curriculum design and delivery&#8221;.\u00a0 This session gave a really valuable overview of  the JISC OER initiatives so far in this context.\u00a0 For our study the following questions posed by  Helen Beetham particularly resonated.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>What kinds of OERs do we see being adopted and re-used, and how? What new skills\/expertise are required?<\/li>\n<li>How can OERs be integrated sustainably into curriculum processes? In  what ways are curriculum processes challenged\/contested\/changed by use  of OERs?<\/li>\n<li>How does the use of OERs impact on (e.g.) Student engagement?  Student autonomy? Student achievement? Staff workload? Pedagogies in  use?<\/li>\n<li>What kind of communities (e.g. Subject-based)benefit from OER  sharing\/reuse?
