{"id":38,"date":"2007-04-27T13:27:37","date_gmt":"2007-04-27T13:27:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tallblog.conted.ox.ac.uk\/index.php\/2007\/04\/27\/mobiles-and-more\/"},"modified":"2007-05-04T08:20:44","modified_gmt":"2007-05-04T08:20:44","slug":"mobiles-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tallblog.conted.ox.ac.uk\/index.php\/2007\/04\/27\/mobiles-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"Mobiles and more"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the last fortnight I have been to two events focusing on mobile technologies, one here at the department run by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.conted.ox.ac.uk\/cpd\/electronics\/oxford_university_next_generation_mobile_applications_panel.asp\">Forum Oxford<\/a> people and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ambientperformance.com\/Information.htm\">Seriously Mobile Summit<\/a> in London (cue being blown away by Canary Wharf -we&#8217;re not in Oxford any more Toto). The former was by telecoms people for telecoms people and after a day in a room with them even someone who has only just mastered predictive text starts thinking the future is mobile phones&#8230;.yes they will be doing EVERYTHING for us in 10 years time&#8230;but that is a whole other story.<br \/>\nWhat does this all mean for learning? The second event focused on this by way of social software and immersive worlds.
